Healing Hearts Dolls

Healing Hearts Dolls is a project I began several years ago to serve children who have been sexually abused. When a child discloses sexual abuse, one of the first steps in their journey towards healing is to see a Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner, or a "S.A.N.E. nurse". This is scary for an adult, and all the more scary for a little one who has already suffered so much! My hope is that these dolls will give them some comfort on one of the most difficult days of their young lives.

My community has come together to support this work by donating gently used Mattel Barbie and Disney dolls and doll clothing that I refurbish and deliver to our local hospital to be offered to children.
